Crows are scary. I encountered these two sitting on an old fence on the misty, wind-swept, dramatic coastline trail linking Muir Beach to Tennessee Valley Beach on Saturday. I trembled as I approached them, feeling that any minute they would silently swoop together in unison, each one plucking out one of my eyeballs and then turn their wings to catch a different thermal and fly over the ocean dropping them into the water.

Mat speaks eloquently on a day when I have nothing to say that is nice enough to put on my weblog. I am angry at America for what it has become. I pretty much **hate** what America has become, and I am appalled by the numbers of people who have voted to put this evil regime masquerading as Christian saviours of the country's sensitive morals. I am mad at you, America.
But you had the right to vote for whoever you wanted to, and that is what is so @%$#$ depressing that I can barely see straight today. You listened to a man who told you that he was on God's side, and you listened to the radio talk show hosts who said that you weren't a Christian if you voted for Kerry (seriously, G. Gordon Liddy said that), and you listened to the Catholic church who said that it was a sin to vote for Kerry (on the side of decency I won't point out the obvious), and you listened to all of the bald-faced lies that the administration told about WMD's, about keeping you safer, about hunting down terrorists. And you refused to read the newspapers obviously.
You have destroyed our country. It is now a single-party country, and you can kiss the environment goodbye. But apparently that doesn't really apply to any of you because you are so numbed by what you are fed. You are happy with your artificial environments, with your excursions to walmart and target and maybe when you're feeling crazy to an Applebee's or Eat at Joe's Crab Shack (the one on elm and main streets, not the one on 1st and Lincoln). And you're all so self-absorbed with your reality TV and your Fox News that you don't even know what it is like to stand on top of a mountain. YOu have NO idea what it is like to lie on the ground underneath a thousand year old tree and look up at its branches and feel the earth below you. YOU have no idea because you are so numbed and bled to near death by the crippling lifestyle that this government insists is the only way.
So why WHY should it matter to you if we are going to cut down trees that were here before civilization began and give them to the logging industries. WHY should YOU f%$^&g care if we are going to drill Alaska until there it is unrecognizable. WHy should YOU care? YOu've never been there, and you won't $&^%& go because it is too cold and wild and you won't leave your climate controlled comfort zone. So why should you care?
Well, i really care. I CARE about poor people and homeless people, the "widowed and the orphaned" that Jesus says for us to care for and says that that is true religion. I care about our planet because those far away places that you never see and have turned your back on, those are the only things that keep me sane after spending 16 hours in a pediatric intensive care unit where I see EVERY day the horrible mess that this administration has made of our healthcare system.
So GOD SAVE CALIFORNIA. Because I will never leave it now. You have ruined this country and this is the only land that I could ever live in. This country bled red last night, and I am horrified. I feel like this is an epic turning in the state of our land, and I am angry at you, America. I am furious that you have allowed this to happen without even researching the facts before you voted. You probably never even gave any thought to ANY of Kerry's ideas.
I wasn't planning on writing anything for this very reason, but ^(*&*& it felt good, and my hands are shaking and my jaw is clenched, and i hope that you are prepared for the amount of fury and energy that is pent up inside everyone like me, and there are a lot of us. More people voted AGAINST this president than have ever voted against any president in history. So enjoy your two years that you get to ruin the country, because the next senate elections will turn out differently after you are forced to live with the hell that you have created.
Oh, but I forgot. You won't think it's hell, because you are numbed and not really alive. You don't stand among redwoods, and you don'[t climb mountains so you won't even realize what is happening to GOD"S earth. And you don't read the papers so you won't have any idea the lies that you are being fed. So enjoy your new america. Selfish people.
